Verify a print

Every stored print can be recomputed from the stored observations with the published code, under the methodology version that was live on its date, and compared field by field with what was published: value, EUR value, FX rate, provider counts, flags, and every constituent. Each print file carries a sha256 digest of its content, so a copy of this site can be checked against the database it claims to come from. Exit status 0 means every print matched.

git clone https://github.com/markrusch/Compute-Indices
pip install -e .
python -m tci.run reproduce --published
# or one day: python -m tci.run reproduce --date 2026-10-10

Today's headline digest: sha256:882b634dbc5c890fd031f5be62582e89f226a758349057a2dc4701b525733a58

One series, every session

data/v1/index.json lists every series with its first and last session and how many of them printed. Each entry points at a file holding that series' whole history, one row per session, with the same sha256 digest the print file for that date publishes. A session that did not print is a row with a null value and the reason in flags, never an absent row, so a reader cannot skip over a gap without noticing it. The shape is versioned: a breaking change goes to v2 and leaves v1 served.

# what is published
curl -s ./data/v1/index.json | jq '.series[].series'
# the headline over a date range
curl -s ./data/v1/series/EU-CRI-H100.json |
  jq '[.points[] | select(.date >= "2026-09-01")]'
# verify one session's digest from the print file
curl -s ./data/prints/2026-10-10.json |
  jq -jcS '.series["EU-CRI-H100"] | del(.digest)' | sha256sum

The digest is a sha256 over the print's canonical form: the same object the print file publishes, with digest removed, keys sorted, no whitespace, every number a six-decimal string. That is the whole definition, and it needs none of this project's code to check.

Series identifiers

The site publishes the TCI-CRI‑* names. The data files still carry the original EU-CRI‑* keys, and will until the rename is executed as a governed change with a published old→new mapping and an effective date. Until then, read EU-CRI-H100 in the files as TCI-CRI-H100 on this site: same series, same history, same values.

# the headline print, and the constituents behind it
curl -s ./data/latest.json | jq '.series["EU-CRI-H100"]'
curl -s ./data/latest.json | jq '.constituents["EU-CRI-H100"]'

Terms of use, in short

The full text is in DATA-TERMS.md; this is a summary, and the document governs.

Non-commercialFree, no permission needed — research, teaching, journalism, verification, critique, reproducibility packages. Attribution required. Verification is never restricted: if you believe a print is wrong, you may publish everything needed to demonstrate it.
CommercialPaid products, terminals, resale, or financial-instrument use require permission — use the contact page. Terms are being finalised; enquiries are welcome now.
Never permittedUse as a reference price in a financial instrument or contract. That is a governance restriction, not a commercial one, and it is not for sale at any price.
Software & docsThe code is Apache 2.0 and the methodology is CC BY 4.0, so every print here can be recomputed and checked independently.

How to cite a value

Cite the print date, the methodology version and the lock hash, so the claim is checkable rather than merely attributed.
